Sixteen cars found their way up the mountain but being somewhat confused near top they enlisted the help of some energetic local youths who directed them to the large concrete cross and picnic spot.

This is a very scenic drive and the views from the top are breathtaking. Yes, someone did get stuck in a Land Rover, but that was just to add to the fun. After lunch about half the cars headed home and the rest followed Pete Jenkin to the rapids and falls on the Nyauri River, a few kms further down the main road. With the river flowing strongly there was much fun had on the slides and the pools.

We look forward to another visit to these rapids on a picnic day run later.
